Autostadt meets Robotics

Open Innovation Challenge by Autostadt

The Autostadt in Wolfsburg is an automotive theme park of the Volkswagen Group. In a 28-hectare lagoon landscape, architecture, design and nature creates the framework for multi-faceted attractions.

Over the past years, it has developed into a tourist destination that has attracted more than 40 million guests to date and welcome over 2 million every year. To stay successful and to maintain the highest service standards, it remains crucial to find new ways to improve customer satisfaction and internal processes - Could robots be a solution which enhance both at the same time?

To answer this question, we launched our very first Open Innovation challenge in December 2020, with the primary goal of finding new solutions in the field of robotics that could potentially improve overall customer experience. After seven exciting 30 minutes pitch sessions three winning contestants were chosen to enter the final phase of the challenge.

We finally have a winner which will be published soon - as a sneak peek, the winning solution is a real allrounder when it comes to customer interaction for all ages at the Autostadt.
